The Teddy Sarna Veterinary Medicine scholarship aims to provide students who are committed to becoming the next generation of veterinarians and are enrolled in a veterinary school that is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) in the United States.

Teddy was a light that shone so brightly in our lives and the lives of those he touched. Teddy taught us what boundless love truly means. He came into our world as a seven-week-old, nine-pound little fur ball and pretty much had us all wrapped around his little paws within hours. Teddy eventually grew to eighty pounds of pure unstoppable affection, wagging his tail to everyone he met and always ready to be pet. Every single day for the next ten years, Teddy gave us the kind of joy that we never knew existed. Unlike many other fur babies, Teddy loved going to the vets’ and was always extremely generous with hugs and kisses to all the nurses and doctors he met throughout his life. We believe it was a combination of Teddy’s nature to love everyone and the great first experiences he had with his doctors as a puppy – doctors who not only took good care of him but also gave him hugs and kisses back. As parents, we were always grateful when doctors got on the floor to Teddy’s level and treated him with kindness and affection. In loving memory of our beloved “Angel with a Tail”, we would like to offer financial help through the Teddy Sarna scholarship to those who have chosen this field to become a future veterinarian who will treat other people’s furry children with loving care.
